Guadalupe River State Park
Guadalupe River State Park is a great daytrip from San Antonio, San Marcos or New Braunfels. Located at the edge of Comal county, the park is over 1,900 acres and a great getaway from the rigors of city life.
With four miles of river frontage, the park offers lots of family
entertainment. In addition to the river, the park recently opened a 5.3 mile equestrian and
mountain biking trail.
Frequently, the park provides a guide who leads a two-hour tour of the Honey Creek State Natural Area, which emphasizes the history, geology, flora and fauna in the area. With elm, pecan, walnut, persimmon, hackberry, willow, sycamore, juniper and
ash trees, the park has a stunning variety of plant life. It is also home to deer, foxes, raccoons, opossums, bobcats and a variety of birds.
