The Guenther House

This home is one of the premier homes in the King William District, residing at the foot of King William Street.

The home was built in 1860 by Carl Guenther, founder of the Pioneer Flour Mills. After being used for a variety of different purposes throughout the years, in 1986, the Guenther family began to restore the home to its original state.

The home is now used as a museum for historic mill products and machinery, and also houses the San Antonio River Mill Store, which sells gourmet baking mixes, custom stoneware, cookware, and other gift items, and a moderately priced restaurant, which is open for breakfast and lunch.

The Guenther House is located at 205 East Guenther Street, and can be reached at (210) 227-1061.
