Market Square
The Market Square, also known as El Mercado, is a small area jam-packed with culture. Colorful shops and small stands are available for unique purchases, many of which are flavored with Mexican and Spanish culture.
Market Square originated in the early 1800s, when area residents would travel to exchange and purchase goods at the city market. Even today, visitors can experience a similar environment, and can even visit Botanica Guadalupana, the oldest pharmacy in San Antonio.

In order to experience this array of crafts, foods and other items, take I-35 to Commerce Street. Hours vary according to season and weather, but can be attained by calling (210) 207-8600.
