The San Antonio Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Gardens is a 33-acre facility located near downtown San Antonio and complete with a variety of organic delicacies.
The San Antonio Botanical Gardens uses its many gardens to reflect unique Texas landscape, from herb and rose gardens to the "Old Fashioned Gardens," which features plants grown by early Texas settlers. Other gardens include the Garden for the Blind, an area with plants that have unique textures and distinct scents, and the Biblical Garden, which gives visitors the opportunity to see plants that are mentioned in the Bible, like olive trees and pomegranates.
The Carriage House, located at the entrance to the facility, houses a gift shop and a tea room that is open for lunch every day but Monday. The Conservatory, an impressive $6.5 million facility, houses many different areas including rooms that feature different plant habitats.
The society offers many opportunities for visitors to attend demonstrations, classes and other family-oriented programs.
