The San Antonio Museum of Art

The museum opened in 1981, is an extensive collection of a variety of art forms. Several galleries are the home of constantly changing exhibitions, including photographs, paintings, drawings, prints, ceramics and pottery, among other art forms. American, Latin American, Greek, Roman, Egyptian, European and Asian art can be found in the museum.

Recently opened, the San Antonio Museum of Art is the home of the three-story and 33,000 square foot Rockefeller Center, which houses the most complete Latin American art collection in the United States. The Pre-Columbian, Spanish colonial and Republican periods are featured, along with folk, modern and contemporary art. The center is important because it recognizes and honors San Antonio’s strong Latin American ties.

The museum is located at 200 West Jones Avenue.
