San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo
Many San Antonians wait all year for the annual San
Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.
Kicked off every year by the Cowboy Breakfast, an
event open to all, thousands flock to enjoy a
breakfast of tacos, biscuits and gravy and hot coffee.
In addition to the free grub, attendees have the
chance to listen to local bands and visit displays and
promotions set up by area businesses.
The breakfast is followed by many days of Texas
festivities, including a livestock show, carnival and
rodeo performances featuring favorite country music
performers. Folks can enter the stock show grounds and browse the vendor and expo
areas, wander through the carnival and experience the livestock barns.
Rodeo events include bareback bronc riding, steer
wrestling, calf roping, team roping, saddle bronc
riding, barrel racing and bull riding, plus a live
concert.
The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is truly a family
event. Adults will love the exposition halls, while
children can enjoy the carnival, pony rides and
petting zoos. A variety of foods are available, from
funnel cakes and hot dogs to true Texas favorites,
like calf fries and fajitas.
The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo takes place in
early February. For more information, go to
